Zoe Saldana is the child of Asalia Saldana and Aridio Nazario. Zoe was born in Passaic (New Jersey) on the 19th of June, 1978. Her mother and father have both been Puerto Ricans. She was born in Queens, New York. When she was 10, she and her parents relocated to the Dominican Republic. They lived in the Dominican Republic for seven more years. In the Dominican Republic, Zoe discovered a keen passion for performance dancing and enrolled in the prestigious ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy in which she was taught ballet and other dance forms. While her education did offer a great outlet for the enthusiastic and energetic youngster, it would also prove as a great prelude to the beginning of the professional career of an actor. Zoe along with her parents and siblings moved into America when she turned seventeen. Zoe discovered a love of dance, and was interested in theatre.
