Lucy Liu was born in the US. Liu is an American singer, actress and voice actor. In addition to being a beautiful and intelligent actress, Lucy Liu serves as a role model to numerous Asian actors who are in Hollywood that want to be successful. She gained fame after several popular role in shows. In her role in the Ally McBeal series, where she portrayed Ling Woo the villainous character. After a sudden surge in fame, the actress landed roles on big screens including Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. Her performance was outstanding in the role of Japanese O-Ren, a gangster from Japan (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. In this period, she played the lead in a few flops at the box office like Rise: Blood Hunter. In the following years, she started to voice prominent characters from animated films such like Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. The small screen role of Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia failed to produce positive results. Southland is a critically-acclaimed series of police dramas which featured Liu in recurring parts, helped to establish her status as a performer. Liu is careful when choosing roles in order to prevent being stereotyped within an industry where competition is fierce. Although she is proud of her heritage however, she is not letting that limit her creativity.
