Lee
Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his family with the benefits of community service. The first time Selmon was born by Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon on a farm near Eufala within Oklahoma as one of their nine children. Another reason for his football career was that his father was the only of three brothers to play with Oklahoma. The three brothers were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey was a starter for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award as well as the Lombardi Award as the nation's best lineman. In his three years as an offensive lineman, Oklahoma finished 32-1-1 and won two national championships. Selmon was honored when the National Football Foundation named him a Scholar-Athlete for the third time in 1975. Selmon graduated with a diploma from the University of California in Berkeley. Lee Roy spent ten hours every week in volunteer work during his college years. After college he settled in Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers were all-pro three times and started his business career. He began his career in 1988. began working as an Account Relation Manager in the First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was employed by the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as well as the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There was no doubt that the year 1982 was when the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy among the top ten outstanding young people across the country. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6-2. In his time at college, he was the captain of the team of 1975. In 1993, he joined the University of South Florida's sports department as its assistant director. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
